16/08/2010: GST CHANGES By now most Users will be starting to think about the upcoming changes to GST, so now seems like a good time to give you the good news. Firstly PlusfactorSQL can ALREADY handle multiple rates of GST. The Accounting Configuration - Taxes tab permits up to 5 rates of GST to be used. We plan to send a program for you to run late September that will change the current rate 1 to 15% on October 1st , and set Rate 2 to 12.5%. It will also appropriately mark the Rate on all transactions prior to 1 Ocrober as being at Rate 2.. There will be no need for you to do anything else! We are also re-writing all of the GST reports for all 3 GST bases—Invoice, Payments, and Hybrid – and we will also provide a new report to provide the required information at the change-over date. If you are an importer you will be pleased to know that the GST-only functions have been revised s that only one Creditor is required for all transactions re imports. Separate invoices will still need to be keyed for exempt items, items subject to GST, and GST only. SQL UPGRADES We are delighted to advise that our entire User Base has now been converted to PlusfactorSQL - resulting in all Users getting the benbefits of the more powerful Microsoft SQL Server Express 2005 database.
