Date : 2 December 2005   Name : Kerikeri Construction 2003 Ltd:

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

We are a large construction company based in Kerikeri and working throughout Northland.

Our company is made up of several divisions ??? the main portion of our work being commercial construction, but we also have a plumbing, small jobbing and painting divisions operating as well as a large administration team.

In April 2003, we were subcontracted to build a large portion of the new Northern Regional Corrections Facility at Ngawha, and we were looking at the costing/ accounting and wages systems which we were operating with at the time ??? none of which were integrated and the need for better reporting systems was becoming increasingly urgent, especially as this project was for a duration of 2 years.

We hunted around and approached several people and looked at many programmes, none of which was able to give us the information that we thought we required to cope with the requirements of this new project. The Ngawha project was complex, we had several buildings being worked on at one time, crews of labour working on several buildings at one time and also other subtrades all working at different times on the various buildings. ??? so keeping track of all this information required a good programme.

We met with Kingsley Light from Plusfactor Solutions Ltd in May 2003 and he spent a day with us showing us the Plusfactor/32 software.

The programme having being designed for builders and other like trades as well looked to be what we were after. It was an all-inclusive package, integrating our need for a general accounting programme with the need to have a comprehensive track of all our contract work.

We purchased the programme in July and Kingsley came up and spent many hours with us installing the programme and directing us with the input of the information we needed to get us up and running. We ran a dual system with our old programme for about 2 months, as we decided to start putting information into Plusfactor, backtracking to June 1st ??? a huge task, as the workload in the office was increasing due to a 20% increase in staff and an abundance of work for the company.

I must admit that after a couple of weeks nerves were shattered, as we were working long hours and were also coping with a new programme that we had not yet come to grips with.
However six weeks into the programme and we began to see the fruits of our labour ??? everything began to make sense. We could track work that we were doing and all of a sudden could do profit / loss reports, reports on how the job was going etc at any one time.

Apart from the construction side of the company, the general accounting programme was working very well, with reports easily available at any time.

Such things as GST returns were done at the push of a button and PAYE etc done in a similar manner.

We use job numbers here at Kerikeri Construction. All jobs come in and are logged into a number and from there all labour, materials and subtrades are coded into various components within that number ??? making various comprehensive reports readily available and very easy to read.

We also coped with a change of owners in the company and therefore the setting up of a new company in October 2003 and everything associated with that ??? no major problems were experienced with this procedure.

We are now 2.5 years into Plusfactor/32 and we think it is wonderful!

Kingsley and his team have given us wonderful support in those times where needed and the upgrading and expansion of the programme by his team has been a very easy process for us.

We have no need anymore for countless spreadsheets, our Accountant easily uses our General Ledger information to quickly produce our Final Accounts each year, and we have actually been able to cut down administration time although the company is twice the size it was 3 years ago.

We happily regard ourselves as the Plusfactor Team Northland and would not hesitate to recommend this programme to anyone.
